Exactly how a match score is calculated

The AI language model never produces or adjusts these numbers. It reads the computed result and writes the explanation — so if the model were removed entirely, your matches would be identical.
No background or income inputs
The matching engine reads only academic scores, skills, interests, work-style preferences and stated goals. It never ingests household income, ZIP code, ethnicity, gender or school funding level.
Equal standing for every pathway
Technical and professional routes are scored on the same scale and shown side by side. A community college or apprenticeship recommendation is a first-choice result, never a fallback.
Transparent scoring
Each match breaks down into its academic, skill, interest, environment and demand components, so a student can see exactly why a career ranked where it did — and what would change it.
Student-owned privacy
Profiles are private to the student by default. Counselor access is opt-in, revocable at any moment, and no other student, parent or employer can read an individual profile.
Human review in the loop
Counselors can annotate any AI report. The counselor's note is displayed alongside the AI output with equal weight, never buried.
Your data, your controls
